If the Baby’s Sleeping, Use Macro Lens
Whenever the baby goes to sleep, it’s an amazing time to start doing some baby close ups. Make sure you capture the baby’s hair, lips, eyes, ears, etc. And that is the time to use the macro lens! These close up photos are something everyone finds simply adorable, but they have to be done the right way. And the fact that the baby is sleeping makes this time perfect for the macro lens, which has a really sensitive focus and requires the baby to be completely still. So, whenever you notice that the baby’s sleeping, start using your macro lens and you won’t regret it.
Get the Mum to Pose With the Baby
There are some moms that are camera shy, and there are others that need too much time to get ready to pose for a picture. However, you need to understand that this is really important. The love a mother feels towards its baby is something that can’t be measured or expressed in words, and that is why it’s necessary for you to capture it on camera. Try explaining to the mum that they should already be ready for a photo shoot when you get there; this will save some time. However, when it comes to the camera shy mothers, try explaining to them why this is so important, and why she’ll appreciate it later in life.
Mind the Props
The props can be both your best friend during the photo shoot, or your worst enemy. Sometimes, if you have too many of them, you just don’t know where to start. But, the better way of doing things is having a couple of different setups for each occasion. Of course, consult the clients about which one they prefer, and then use it. This will make it easy for you and will get the job done a lot quicker.
Siblings are Something Different
If there are some older siblings that are to be in the photo as well, then the best thing to do would be to take the photo with them first, and once it’s done, let them go out and play. If you leave them waiting, they’ll get all nervous and round up, and you’ll never get the perfect shot. So, do that photo first while the sibling is still in a good mood, and you’ll get great results.
Never Give Up
Sometimes, nothing just seems to work and you might feel like quitting would be the best option. However, don’t do it, and stick to your job. That is the only way for you to be considered the best at it, and the only way the people would start loving and recommending you to other folks.
